This paper proposes a routing protocol suitable for distant communication in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). It presents a hierarchical topology with Supportive Multi-hop Single-Relay Selection
(MSRS) Scheme, which aims to improve network communication between Cluster heads (CHs) and a distant base station (BS) by use of multiple mobile relays. The approach is focused on improving energy efficiency, high throughput and self-healing network. In the relay selection algorithm, CH selects relay with the best transmission rate. The simulation results showed that this proposed scheme
outperformed single hop transmission and the cooperative relay channel in terms of optimal transmit power with distance.
