Paper presents a novel approach to detect the middleware error for DDS in an NCS. The problem statement is clearly defined along with a detailed description of shortcomings of the existing scheme. Authors have thoroughly explained their proposal and justified the superiority of their proposal with the help of numerical analysis.
There is still room to improve the presentation of the paper as there are very obvious typos, missing references such as
1) There are two subsections mentioned as "2.3".
2) Proper reference for "SW Log Debugging" is not mentioned.
3) In the section "Smart DDS Monitoring Tool Requirements of NCS", Authors mentioned "specification 1.2 and 2.1" and didn't explain what they are, also corresponding references.
Comments to the Author
The manuscript proposed a monitoring tool that can reduce the error detection time and provide information for error recovery phase.
These issues should be considered in the revised version:
- The advantages of the new design that lead to the time reduction of the error detection should be more clearly expressed in Section 3.1.
- Are there any differences between the data provided by this new tool and those obtained by others?
- There exists two Section 2.3 in the manuscript.
- Figures 5, 7, 8, and 9 should be provided with higher resolutions.
