This paper proposed an architecture that utilize edge servers to allocate logistic jobs to autonomous guided vehicles (AGV) in smart factory setting. The logistic jobs are about picking up payload from a station in smart factory to another station. This problem are modeled as Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) and each edge server will try to solve this problem when it is matching a new job with an AGV that it controls. Simulation results shows the proposed system may output the best performance when utilizing 24 to 30 AGV and the usage of edge servers may help reducing the computing load at main server.
