Design and Implementation of Industrial IoT Platform based on MMS

This paper presents the design and implementation of industrial IoT platform based on MMS (Manufacturing Message Specification). MMS is international standard of application layer in MAP (Manufacturing Automaton Protocol). It is the application which controls devices using identical standard messages. Moreover, it is able to do software development, change and maintenance without considering different standard. However, MMS can only control one machine using one message without investigating an address. In addition, if some use private IP, they could not be connected directly. To overcome drawbacks of MMS, MoM(MMS over MQTT) protocol is proposed for industrial IoT platform. Proposed IoT platform is implemented as a monitoring system which is consist of client and end-device. In results, delay is reduced compared to the MMS by using proposed IoT platform.
