Dear Prof. Kim
Efficient Bandwidth-Aware Routing for Underwater Cognitive Acoustic Sensor Networks
Thank you for submitting your paper to IET Wireless Sensor Systems. The peer review process is now complete. While finding your paper of relevance and potentially worthy of publication, the associate editor, referees and I feel that significantly more work could be done before the paper can be considered again. My decision is therefore to provisionally accept your paper subject to major revisions.
The referee comments are given below. Please make sure that you have addressed ALL the comments in a detailed covering letter; to be included in both the 'response to decision letter' dialogue box, as well as uploaded as an additional file. Please be aware that your paper may be declined if the changes cannot be easily identified. Please note that if the referees are not convinced that their concerns have been addressed this will, at best, result in a request for further modifications which will delay publication, at worst it could result in rejection. For this reason, when resubmitting your revised manuscript, please deal fully with the reviewers¡¯ comments and also explain in the separate document for the reviewers, the changes made and why. If you do not agree with a reviewer¡¯s comment you must say so and explain carefully why you do not agree.
When you have completed your revisions please:
- Upload your revised paper in both PDF and source file format. Note that figures will be used as supplied and that these should therefore be of high quality.
- Please make sure that references are formatted within the IET¡¯s house style. Sample references are available from the online Author Guide at http://digital-library.theiet.org/journals/author-guide
To upload your revised paper please go to https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/iet-wss. Enter the Author Centre, where you will find your original paper in the 'Manuscripts with Decisions' section. Under 'Actions', please click on 'Create a Revision'. You will be able to access your original files here. Please submit source files (.doc, docx, or .tex. files for text and .eps, .tif or jpeg files for figures). If your paper has been prepared using LaTeX, please also upload a single .pdf file of the paper together with the LaTeX source file and the figures. Ensure that you delete any files that do not form part of the revision before completing the submission.
Please note that, in order to publish your paper as quickly as possible, we ask that you submit the revision of your paper by 03-Mar-2018. If you need more time, it is important that you inform the IET office before the deadline so that they may be able to grant an extension. If you are having trouble resubmitting your paper, please contact the IET office directly by replying to this email. Now that your paper has been provisionally accepted, we ask authors to prepare their revised papers with potential production in mind. We have created a new double column template that we ask all authors to use for submission purposes at this stage. Please find the templates for both our Latex and Word versions here:
Please use these when submitting your revise version.
I look forward to receiving your revised version.

Overall the paper is well structured and addresses a major issue in Underwater acoustic networks. The is interesting and motivates the reader. The sections are well structured and written. The proposed models are well defined.
Reviewer has few suggestions to improve the quality of the paper,
More citations from recent quality research papers can be included for cognitive acoustic technique in Introduction section.
Include more discussions on the drawbacks of the existing routing methods in Related Work section to strengthen your research.
The Network models are well defined.Discuss the selection of the particular simulator and version.Provide citations.
Is it possible to measure the average delay in transmissions.
Discuss the packet loss and additional overhead incurred in your protocol and if possible compare it with the existing.
Few grammatical mistakes needs to be corrected.English proofreading suggested.

This paper proposes a routing algorithm to enhance throughput and spectrum utilization efficiency for UCASNs. The method proposed in this paper has some practical meaning in application and the whole paper is well organized. But there are still some problems.
1. In the abstract, how the routing algorithm proposed in this paper can enhance throughput needs further explanation.
2. In the Introduction section, the contributions of the paper are suggested to be added.
3. In the related work, some newer related works should be introduced.
4. In the simulation section, in order to make the simulation results to be much more persuasive, some newer routing protocols also need to be compared.
