This paper proposes a MIL-STD-1553B RT(Remote Terminal) subsystem using FPGA and IP Core. In order to meet requirements of MIL-STD-1553 RT subsystem, FPGA and IP Core are integrated instead of MIL-STD-1553 ASIC Controller, CPU and additional circuits are used for RT subsystem. The evaluation of the proposed RT subsystem is performed with USB-type MIL-STD-1553 bus tester and test software to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. Experimental results show that RT subsystem of MIL-STD-1553B data bus and this design is more flexible and more favorable with respect to cost effectiveness cost reduction.

This paper proposes a design and implementation for MIL-STD-1553B RT(Remote Terminal) subsystem using FPGA and IP core. To Implement MIL-STD-1553 RT subsystem on FPGA, Core1553BRT-APB and CoreTexTM-M3 were selected and deployed as a MIL-STD-1553B controller and CPU, respectively. The performance evaluation of the proposed RT subsystem was performed using TST1553USB to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed design method. Experimental results shows that MIL-STD-1553B RT subsystem based FPGA is more flexible and provide inexpensive management and implementation.

본 논문에서는 FPGA와 IP 코어를 사용하는 MIL-STD-1553B RT (Remote Terminal) 서브 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위해 MIL-STD-1553의 컨트롤러 ASIC과 CPU 및 주변회로를 FPGA와 IP Core를 이용하여 구현하였다. 제안 된 RT 서브 시스템이 MIL-STD-1553B의 요구사항을 만족하는지 평가하기 위해 USB 형 MIL-STD-1553 버스 테스터와 테스트 소프트웨어를 이용하여 성능평가를 진행하였다. 실험 결과에 따르면 제안한 설계기법은 기존의 MIL-STD-1553B 서브시스템과 비교해 유연한 설계가 가능하고, 시스템 구현 비용을 절감킬 수 있다
