Abstract - This paper proposes a dynamic load balancing algorithm in WLAN for industrial wireless networks. Load balancing algorithm plays important role in the resource management and also gives much impact in the performance point of view. Load balance is both a mechanism which equally spreads the load and minimizes the response time and improves the resource utilization rate. The proposed scheme checks load state of each industrial Access Point (AP) and balances overloaded APs by immigrating some wireless stations towards under loaded one, periodically. Each wireless station has different throughput with different APs, respectively and immigrations can be accomplished with considering the throughput value between wireless stations and under loaded APs. This algorithm is implemented in Industrial wireless networks based on IEEE 802.11 in order to improve overall system throughput.
