Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (DFA) helps medical environment for assessing the condition of vital body part by scaling the autocorrelation of nonstationary signal. This paper extends the authors¡¯ previous work by presenting DFA to detect heart electric signal. Signal data were obtained from the previous work with developed Electrocardiogram (ECG) device. Smoker and nonsmoker were considered as the performance metric. This metric was chosen because smoking habit is found in home environment, which should be more discouraged. DFA for smoking subjects distinguishes this paper with other¡¯s. The experimental results are pertinent to the related previous work, showing that there lies a cardiac disparity between smoker and nonsmoker.
