This paper proposes an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) system based on private ethereum blockchain. By using a private ethereum network, all miners and nodes should be registered in the genesis block, therefore a non-registered miner cannot access the blockchain. Two types of smart contract are deployed in each miner: general ethereum smart contract and IoTeX smart contract. Because ethereum has 12 block confirmations before the transactions happen, with a new fast consensus innovation of IoTeX it can speed up the transaction time. The implementation with private network is more secure, because only registered miners and nodes can access the blockchain, also with IoTeX smart contract is decreasing the transaction time to around seven seconds for one transaction.

P: What is the contribution of this paper and what is the difference with the previous work?

K: In this paper we consider to use private network rather than public network, so it's more secure because not everyone can access the network. We also deployed two different type of smart contract in each miner, general ethereum smart contract and IoTeX smart contract. In this case, our transaction time is faster than previous work to around 7 second for on transaction. 


P: How can it is faster than the previous work?

K: Because in the IoTeX smart contract uses fast consensus algorithm, so it speed up the transaction time.


Weak Point:

Still using a simple LED as a simple implementation of IoT and in IoTeX smart contract only has deposit ether without withdraw ether.


Future Work:

For future work, using the latest ethereum architecture called plasma that contains of root blockchain, parent blockchain and side-blockchain can be considered for IIoT sector.
