Journal: Physical Communication

Dear Professor. Kim,

Thank you for submitting your manuscript to Physical Communication. I regret to inform you that your paper is not acceptable for publication. We have completed the review of your manuscript and a summary is appended below. For your information and guidance, any specific comments explaining why I have reached this decision and those received from reviewers, if available, are listed at the end of this letter.

You have the option of resubmitting a substantially revised version of your paper, which would be considered as a new submission. If you decide to do this, you should refer to the reference number of the current paper and include a cover letter which explains in detail how the paper has been changed or not, in reply to the Editor and Reviewer comments.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your work.

Kind regards,

This paper presents a novel algorithm to solve the multi-objective optimization problems, namely dragonfly search convergence and coverage algorithm (DSCCA). The proposed algorithm is well compared with the other existing optimization algorithms. The proposed solution approach is very interesting and appears having competitive performance. However, I have following comments about the manuscript.

1. In my opinion, the multi-objective optimization framework (objectives) is not well (explicitly) connected with the mentioned " resource scheduling for URLLC in Industrial Wireless Network". To this reviewer, this is the one of the concerns about this work. The organization of this paper needs to be improved to avoid any potential confusion in this regards.

2. The optimization framework is interesting; however, it is confusing how the defined objectives involving important metrics like resource scheduling variables, latency, and reliability are defined to be solved with DSCCA. Also, can the authors simplify the representations to improve readability of the manuscript?

3. The convergence and coverage analogy for the dragon flies and the stringent requirements of URLLC is unclear to this reviewer. The authors should provide some insights and establish this argument.

4. How the gain criterion (5) is derived? Is the equation balanced?

5. In (15), the connectivity ratio is defined as C_r = n/m. The authors should explain this term ¡®m¡¯ carefully. It is missing.

6. What is the rationale behind using $\beta$ parameter 1.9 in the Levy function. What will be its impact on the stability of the distribution, in general the swarm optimization if we choose any other value, say 3 or 1.5?

7. In Fig. 22, it is quite unclear how pareto optimal solutions are derived? The units are missing in the figure. ¡°The solutions are highly distributed along both objectives thus proving both convergence and coverage of DSCCA in solving multi-objective constrained problem¡±, please explain further. What is the intuition behind this statement. As in my earlier comments, it is confusing how the term 'convergence' is used in this manuscript.

8. The authors should carefully check the manuscript to avoid any grammatical errors.

9. In summary, though a very interesting approach, the dragonfly perspective for URLLC is still confusing to this reviewer in the absence of an explicit problem formulation. I suggest the authors to reconsider the title of this manuscript. Further, the paper is not so easy to follow because of its organization. I strongly encourage and suggest the authors to improve the organization and presentation of this paper.

- This paper presents a novel nature inspired dragonfly based, optimization paradigm, named as dragonfly search convergence and coverage algorithm (DSCCA) for resource scheduling for ultra reliable low latency communication (URLLC) in an industrial wireless network. The authors makes a very detailed analysis and simulation works.

But I think it has something wrong for the basic concept or application:

1) URLLC is a cellular technology, the communication is achieved between UEs and Base-stations. The authors consider the latency is guaranteed by the optimization for the relay node.
2) The application background is about industrial wireless network, however, it cannot be distinguished from the introduction and model clearly.
3) URLLC is standardized for 1ms air latency and ms-level end-to-end latency, this paper optimized the routing and reduce the convergence rate. I think they are not the same kind of problems.
Above all, I strongly recommend the authors to change the background. I t is not appropriate only to pursue advanced technology or concept, such as Industrial and 5G URLLC. The topic should be a reasonable story or application.
