Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier (UFMC) is considered one of the foremost waveform candidates for the future wireless communication system. Because of multi-carrier transmission, UFMC system conveys high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), which reduces the system performance. This paper uses the partial transmit sequence (PTS) technique to reduce the PAPR of UFMC system. In PTS scheme, multiple signals are generated and the lowest PAPR signal transmit. An improved PTS scheme is proposed in this paper with reduced computational complexity. Simulation results and theoretical analysis shows that the proposed PTS scheme performs better PAPR reduction, PSD performance, and BER than the original PTS.
