Abstract:
WirelessHART is one of the most popular standards for wireless communication in industrial automation. Despite widely used, has challenges on reliability. This paper proposes a novel faulty node detection scheme for a WirelessHART network by using pseudo-random Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) code. Specifically, BCH codes are used to observe the node status instead of a more conventional method which is by using a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) codes. To do that, each node sends multiple bits of BCH code uniformly as a modification of the CRC code scheme. The simulation results show that our proposed scheme can overcome the performance of traditional CRC codes in terms of detecting the faulty node.
